Pocono Raceway/Xfinity Takeover To Affect Traffic Wednesday

Seven race cars will make laps around City Hall Wednesday morning, and that means traffic will be affected.

PHILADELPHIA — Several roads in Philadelphia will close Wednesday, May 15 as the Pocono Raceway/Xfinity Philly Takeover parades race cars in Center City.

At noon, seven race cars will proceed south on 17th Street to Market Street, east on Market to City Hall, and around the perimeter of City Hall, making two laps around City Hall.

When the second lap is completed, the cars will continue west on JFK Boulevard, stopping along the north curb lane in front of the Comcast Center.

Spring Garden Street will be closed between Pennsylvania Avenue and the Eakins Oval from about 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. for off-loading and staging.

Police will be assigned to the detours along the route.

However, motorists should expect delays in the area.
