PPA Rolling Out Parking App Citywide Soon
The MeterUP parking app was only available in certain parts of the city, but now the PPA is rolling it out citywide to make parking easier.
PHILADELPHIA – Parking in the city is getting a bit easier, as the MeterUP parking app will soon be available citywide, the Philadelphia Parking Authority said Thursday.
The app was only available in areas such as Center City Core and Fringe, University City and all three rail stations, including Fox Chase, Torresdale and Fern Rock.
But now the app is will be good to use across the city in the next three months.

"After a tremendously successful pilot program, we are delighted to be expanding this very popular and convenient mobile payment option to all kiosks and meters throughout the city," PPA’s Executive Director Scott Petri said. "Our customers will now have the convenience of paying or adding time remotely for parking instead of having to continuously carry coins."
The once-dead parking app was brought back to life for a pilot project in the fall last year after the PPA reached an agreement with vendor ParkMobile, LLC.

MeterUP allows divers to use the smartphone app to pay for parking and add time to the "meter" without stopping at the kiosks.
Customers are able to use meterUP by visiting meterUP.org, downloading it through their iOS and Android device, or by calling (877) 727-5303.
