PHILADELPHIA — The Roots Picnic is back on for 2020, albeit digitally.

Shortly after organizers announced the music festival hosted by Philly's own The Roots was postponed to Aug. 1, an announcement was made about its shift to a virtual experience.

The move comes as no shock, as transitioning to digital events has become the norm amid the coronavirus pandemic.
