See Dell Music Center's Essence Of Entertainment Concert Schedule

This summer's concert series will include performances by Ne-Yo, India Arie, Anthony Hamilton, Gregory Porter, SWV, Tamia and more.

PHILADELPHIA — The Dell Music Center’s 2019 Essence of Entertainment Concert Season launches on Thursday, July 11 with performances by four music sensations: R&B performers The O’ Jays, Russell Thompkins Jr.’s New Stylistics, Bloodstones and The Intruders.

Located in East Fairmount Park, The Dell Music Center offers amenities and entertainment at affordable prices.

The 2019 Essence of Entertainment concert lineup will feature performances from the following performers:

  • Thursday, July 11 — The O’Jays/ Russel Thompkins, Jr. & The New Stylistics/ Bloodstone/ The Intruders
  • Thursday, July 18 — Ne-Yo/ Tamia
  • Thursday, July 25 — The Whispers/ Stephanie Mills
  • Thursday, Aug. 1 — India Arie/ Raheem DeVaughn/ Major
  • Thursday, Aug. 8 — Anthony Hamilton/ Ledisi/ Gregory Porter
  • Thursday, Aug. 15 — Guy featuring Teddy Riley
  • Saturday, Aug. 17 — MercyMe/ Tenth Avenue North/ Jordan Feliz
  • Thursday, Aug. 22 — SWV (special guest TBA)
  • Thursday, Aug. 29 — Keith Sweat/ Johnny Gill/ Stokley

In addition to the Essence of Entertainment concerts, this year’s Dell events calendar will include the following shows and events:

  • Thursday, Sept. 5 — The 5th Annual Make The World Better Foundation, Inc Benefit Concert.
    • Make The World Better connects people and inspires stewardship through public space revitalization projects. Former Philadelphia Eagles Player, Connor Barwin is the Founder and Board President of Make The World Better Foundation. The charity concert will feature performances by:
  • Friday, Aug. 23 — The 8th Annual Recovery Idol Finals. Founded by Derrick Ford in 2011, Recovery Idol showcases the singing talent of people in recovery. The showcase is a partnership between the Philadelphia Recovery Coalition (PRC), The City of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS), and Pennsylvania Recovery Organization-Achieving Community Together (PRO-ACT).

  • Wednesday, Aug. 28 — Mega Back-To-School Event with Master Scientist Grand Hank. Internationally renowned award-winning Master Scientist Grand Hank will host an interactive science show for young people. Students who attend the show will receive a free book bag and other school-related materials while supplies last. Tickets are $10 per person.
