Tenacious D Playing Philadelphia In First Tour In Years

Jack Black and Kyle Gass are back at it again with Tenacious D, and the comedy-minded rockers will be playing Philadelphia in November.

PHILADELPHIA – For the first time in five years, Jack Black and Kyle Gass are hitting the road on a United States tour to serve up the comedy rock of their band Tenacious D. And they are heading to Philadelphia in November.

The band will perform at The Fillmore Philadelphia at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8.

Known to fans as simply "The D," Tenacious D is embarking on their first tour in half a decade, with tickets for their Philly show going on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, May 18.

Not only is the band hitting the road again, they are teasing a new album and potentially a new movie that will be a sequel to the 2006 movie "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny."

"I don’t know where you’ll be able to see it, but we have decided that it’s happening and it’s coming out," Black told the audience at the Shaky Knees festival in Atlanta, Georgia recently, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The band's last studio release was 2012's "Rize of the Fenix."
