Claire Sliney is an executive producer of the short film "Period. End of Sentence" and now she's got an Oscar for her efforts.

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia region had a lot riding on the Academy Awards Sunday night. While big names such as Bradley Cooper and Adam McKay didn't take home Oscars, a University of Pennsylvania sophomore did.
Clair Sliney is the executive producer of the 26-minute film "Period. End of Sentence" which took home the Oscar in the Documentary Short Subject category Sunday night.
The film focuses on the stigma of menstruation for girls in India and the efforts of a nonprofit that Sliney, 20 and a Los Angeles native, co-founded in high school to address the issue and raise awareness.
