Woman Charged In Deadly Philadelphia Hit-And-Run

PHILADELPHIA — Charges have been filed against a woman in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a man in late February.

Sharon Seawood, 42, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, and recklessly endangering another person, court records show.

The crash occurred at about 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, on the 7900 block of Ogontz Avenue.

According to police, the vehicle was heading north on Ogontz when it struck Bryant, who police said was crossing against the light and outside the crosswalk.

Police said surveillance footage showed Bryant's body was dragged by the vehicle for 30 to 40 feet and was struck so hard his shoes flew off.

The driver, who police said is depicted above, stopped assessed the vehicle's damage, then continued driving north on Ogontz.

Seawood was released after posting 10 percent of $25,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 19, according to court documents.
