Phoenixville Man Stole From Charity For Victims Of Montco Fire
The man kept money raised for the Lukens boys, the children of a Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy killed in a 2017 fire, police said.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A Phoenixville man allegedly kept money he raised in the name of the Lukens boys, the children of a Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy killed in a tragic 2017 fire.
Robert Andrew Domarsky, 47, allegedly began the sales of calendars purporting to support the family of the victims in either Dec. 2017 or Jan. 2018, which would have been immediately following the Dec. 13, 2017 blaze.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Domarsky approached a Limerick woman who could help him sell the calendars, telling her that the money would go towards the victims of the fire.

The calendars were sold for $5 each, and a total of $610 was raised, according to documents. However, instead of donating that money to the family that had lost two of their children in a fire as he had promised, Domarsky pocketed the cash, police said.
A thorough review of the Lukens Foundation found no records of donations made to either the Foundation or the Lukens family by Domarsky, the affidavit states.

Domarsky was charged with a very similar crime back in Nov. 2018. He stole thousands from another local charity that supports families that have lost children, according to court documents. He stole nearly $4,000 from the Phoenixville branch of Compassionate Friends, police said.
The 2017 blaze killed Bryan Lukens Jr., 11, and Parker Lukens, 4. Dep. Bryan Lukens, his wife Tracy and their daughter Soffia all were injured in the blaze, but managed to survive. There was a huge surge of support for the family in the wake of the blaze. An investigation determined the electrical fire was caused by a faulty extension cord plugged into a space heater.
Domarsky has been charged with theft by unlawful taking and related counts, in addition to the charges filed against him late last year. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
