2 Pittsburgh Brothers Face Major Fentanyl, Weapons Charges

Two Pittsburgh brothers are facing numerous felony charges for allegedly possessing fentanyl and weapons.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Two brothers have been charged with numerous charges involving trafficking of fentanyl, crack cocaine and other drugs, and illegal possession of firearms.

Rodney Howard, 60, and Andre Howard, 62, of both of the city's Larimer section, are charged with numerous felonies following a recent search of their Shetland Street home by Pennsylvania Attorney General agents who assisted by Ross Township police, Robinson Township police and the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office.

Officials seized bricks of fentanyl, 1,200 fentanyl pills, 10.5 ounces of crack cocaine, and other drugs, as well as two handguns and a shotgun.

Rodney Howard’s bail was set at $50,000 cash; Andre Howard’s bail is $10,000 cash.

“These brothers — convicted felons — were pushing poisons into neighborhoods and were willing to illegally carry firearms to protect their trade," Attorney General Dave Sunday said in a release.

In all, law enforcement seized from the Howards’ Shetland Street home:

  • A Ruger 57 handgun
  • A Lorcin .380 handgun
  • A FMJ Duckton .410 shotgun
  • 1,200 fentanyl pills (approximate street value: $12,000)
  • 15 bricks of fentanyl (street value: $3,000)
  • 13 grams of raw fentanyl (street value: $2,600)
  • 300 grams of crack cocaine (street value: $30,000)
  • 16 grams Psilocybin mushrooms
  • 450 grams of marijuana
  • $2,284 cash

The cases will be prosecuted by the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office.
