The public is now able to use the new roadways and trails.

PITTSBURGH, PA - A new 1.9-mile hiking and biking trail has opened along with the first roads in the Hazelwood Green development rising on the old J&L and LTV Steel plant site. Dubbed the Hazelwood Trail, the pathway connects Hazelwood to the Eliza Furnace, Three Rivers Heritage and Great Allegheny Passage trails.
Hazelwood Avenue now extends into the Hazelwood Green site, crossing over Irvine Street onto the property. Blair Street, a new road, runs east to west through the 178-acre site and connects to the trail.
The Hazelwood Trail can be accessed from the north via the southwest corner of the intersection at Hot Metal Bridge and Second Avenue, and at Blair Street and Second Avenue. On the southern end, the trail can be accessed from Gloster Street at Tecumseh Street or Hazelwood Avenue.
