Kennywood Getting Multimillion-Dollar Facelift
The West Mifflin amusement park also will have an extended schedule beginning in 2022.
WEST MIFFLIN, PA — Kennywood will celebrate its 125th birthday in 2023, but the party is starting early. The amusement park on Thursday announced a multimillion dollar improvement project and expanded schedule that will bring additional special events to the location.
Renovations will occur to the park’s entrance plaza and main gate, along with the Old Mill and Jack Rabbit queue line areas. The Beer Garden areas will be redesigned. Four of the park's top attractions - the Phantom's Revenge, Jack Rabbit and Racer - already have been or will be repainted.
The popular Kangaroo ride will return with an all-new look and LED lighting package. Kennywood also will be putting an increased emphasis on landscaping and creating a more vibrant atmosphere, park officials said at a news conference.
