Legendary Pittsburgh DJ Scott Paulsen Returning To Radio With New Show

BEAVER FALLS, PA — Legendary Pittsburgh DJ Scott Paulsen, long absent from Pittsburgh-area airwaves, will be heard again throughout the region beginning later this month.

Beaver County Radio has announced that Paulsen will join its lineup beginning April 30 at 7 p.m. He'll be heard on Beaver County Radio 95.7 and 99.3, along with 1230 WBVP, 1460 WMBA and BeaverCountyRadio.com.

Paulsen will host "Radio Stella," a program that will delve into the history of rock and roll. In a Beaver County Radio release, Paulsen said he is "armed with thousands of songs and useless rock and roll trivia."

"Radio Stella" will air every Sunday night from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.

In 2020, Patch readers voted Paulsen the second-favorite DJ in Pittsburgh radio history.

Paulsen, 62, is best known for being the morning show host at WDVE-FM, first doing the show solo beginning in 1986 and then partnering with Pittsburgh comedian Jim Krenn in`1988. For 11 years, the duo entertained Pittsburghers with characters such as Stanley P. Kachowski, Bobby Subgum, Ralph the Cat and Buddy (down at Buddy's).

Paulsen also hosted a talk show on WBGG-AM, Pittsburgh's ESPN network. He returned to WDVE in 2002 to host the evening shift, departing in 2006 for WRKZ-FM. Paulsen returned to WDVE as an executive contributor to the morning show in 2012 before departing for a third time in 2014.

Most recently, he worked for a radio station in Virginia.
