In Memoriam: Remembering Those Pittsburgh Lost In 2020

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh bid farewell to a host of prominent people with ties to the city in 2020, with the sports and broadcasting communities being hit particularly hard by the loss of many well-known personalities.

Some were among the more than 300,000 who succumbed to the coronavirus; others died from different causes. But each at one point during their lives was an important thread in the fabric of the Pittsburgh.

Among those who passed away:

• Carlton Haselrig, 54, former Steelers All-Pro offensive lineman.
• Eleanor Schano, Pittsburgh broadcasting pioneer.
• Robert Full, 65, former Allegheny County Emergency Services chief.
• Glenn Cannon, 71, former Allegheny County manager, founding director of Pittsburgh's Emergency Medical Services and former Pittsburgh public safety director.
• John Majors, 85, former University of Pittsburgh head football coach.
• Chris Doleman, 58, NFL Hall of Famer and former University of Pittsburgh star.
• George Perles, 85, former Steelers assistant head coach.
• Woody Widenhofer, 77, former Steelers defensive coordinator.
• Dan Radakovich, 84, former Steelers assistant coach.
• Kevin Greene, 58, former Steelers Hall of Fame linebacker.
• Bill Robinson, 78, former Pennsylvania state representative, City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County councilman.
• Yves Carreau, 60, prominent Pittsburgh restaurateur.
• Virginia Frizzi, 66, former Point Park University public relations director.
• Noella Marte, wife of former Pittsburgh Pirate Starling Marte.
• Jeff Holt, 46, owner of the popular Lawrenceville bar Hambone's.
• Bob Bartolomeo, 65, former KQV-AM on-air personality.
• Bob Harvey, 75, former KQV-AM on-air personality.
• Stephen Chatman, former WYEP-FM radio show host.
• Joe Mucci, 85, retired football coach at Jeannette and Greensburg Central Catholic high schools.
• Jamain Stephens, 20, California University of Pennsylvania football player and son of former Steeler Jamain Stephens.
