National average price of gas set to break Labor Day record (wtae.com) — Pittsburgh drivers are paying about $4.35 per gallon this Labor Day, well above the already record-setting national average of $4.15, according to AAA. Residents describe cutting back on trips and consolidating errands as high crude oil prices keep fuel costs unusually steep for this time of year.
