Pittsburgh Getting New Takeout Sushi Spot

PITTSBURGH, PA — A new takeout sushi place is about to debut in the city while work continues on the completion of its adjacent interior sit-down space.

Golden Gai To-Go opens May 28 in Bakery Square in the city's East End.

"Our vision for Golden Gai To-Go is to provide a fast, convenient and delicious sushi experience for our patrons," executive chef Michael Taylor said in a release. "We want to offer a taste of what's to come while maintaining the same high standards of quality and flavor that will define our brand."

The takeout window will be open from 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Customers can order via their phone or on a walk-up touchscreen.

Golden Gai To-Go is the latest offering from the Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group, which owns a number of Pittsburgh restaurants including Tako, Meat & Potatoes, Butcher and the Rye, Poulet Bleu and Coop DeVille.

An opening date for Golden Gai's interior has not yet been announced.
