Pittsburgh Places Where You Can Cut Your Own Christmas Tree

Christmas tree farms in southwestern Pennsylvania have opened for the season.

PITTSBURGH, PA - While many people prefer the convenience of choosing their Christmas tree from the selection in a pop-up lot or home improvement store, others prefer the old-fashioned manner of cutting down their own.

There is no shortage of Christmas tree farms in southwestern Pennsylvania. If you're among those who want to obtain your tree in a more organic manner than stopping at Lowe's, you might want to consider one of these places:

Trees are limited this season, with the majority being six-foot Blue Spruce. All cut your own trees are $50.00. Cut your own begins Nov. 21 and will be available every day of the week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Offering a selection of firs, blue spruce and white pine. Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. most days, although tree-cutting ends at sunset.

Locally grown, full, live, cut, 9-20’ Fraser fir Christmas trees available on-site and can also be delivered. Open daily, 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

One of the more popular tree farms, Nutbrown's in Carnegie, has decided not to open this year. Martin's Christmas Tree Farm in Belle Vernon has not yet posted its hours.
