Pittsburgh Sanitation Workers Refusing To Work

The workers claim the city isn't providing protections that would safeguard them against the coronavirus.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Pittsburgh sanitation workers are refusing to work until they are given adequate protections against the coronavirus.

Workers on Wednesday morning assembled outside the city Bureau of Environmental Services office in the Strip District. KDKA-TV reported they were sent home for the day with pay, and now city and union officials will meet to try to resolve the dispute.

It's unclear how the city refuse collection schedule will be impacted by the walkout.
