The reverberations from the report, which focused heavily on the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, were felt all the way to the Vatican.

1. The Tree of Life Massacre
In what Mayor Bill Peduto described as the darkest day in Pittsburgh history, 11 people were shot to death while attending services at Tree of Life synagogue in Squirrel Hill. It was the deadliest attack against Jews in U.S. history.
