Firefighting Materials Coming to Conshohocken

The County Board of Commissioners approve a bid of over $39,000.

A resolution by the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners will bring over $39,000 in firefighting materials to Conshohocken.

The Board approved a bid that will allow the Montgomery County Public Safety and Fire Academy to purchase fire-fighting foam concentrate; a material used for both training and combating fire, at is August meeting.

The county accepted a bid of $39,288 from Huntington Valley-based MES Inc. for the foam.

According to its website, the county fire academy, located on Conshohocken Road, “provides education and training for the fire, rescue, and emergency medical services in Montgomery County,” including hazardous materials training, fire prevention training and education support.

The $39,288 represents the lowest bid from 11 companies solicited by the county.
