Lafayette Hill Man 'Jumped,' Robbed in Miles Park

Says he was assaulted by three high school-age males.

An 18-year-old Lafayette Hill man told Whitemarsh Police he was jumped and robbed by three males in Miles Park on Sunday night, according to a WPD report.

The man says he was meeting with a female friend in the park at about 7:38 p.m. when the trio approached him near the dugouts behind Whitemarsh Ambulance. They then asked him "what you got on you?" before pushing him up against a wall and rifling through his pockets, the alleged victim told police.

After taking $10 in cash, a social security card, and the man's backpack, one of the individuals then punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. The males then fled on foot toward a nearby Wawa.

Police say that the man, an Archbishop Carroll graduate, suspected the males were seniors at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School. He told police that he saw them at a party the night before, where they accused him of stealing a tattoo gun, which the victim denied. He described the male who struck him as 5'11" with an olive complexion and a muscular build.

Police showed him a PWHS yearbook, but the victim was unable to identify any of his alleged attackers. He told police that the black-colored Jensen backpack contained eyeglasses, sheet music, house keys, and deodorant.
