Police: Man Charged with Assault after Bloodying Conshohocken Officer

A Plymouth Meeting man is behind bars after he allegedly punched a Conshohocken Police Officer in the nose, causing injury and bleeding, authorities say.

Robert Kliamovich, 66, of the 1900 block of Sandy Hill Road, faces a felony count of aggravated assault, misdemeanor counts of making terroristic threats and resisting arrest, and related charges in connection with the incident.

Police originally responded to a disturbance call at a home on West 10th Avenue, Conshohocken at about 10 p.m. Sunday night. There, a male resident of the home said that he heard a loud "thud" in a basement living area, and upon investigating, reportedly found his father-in-law on the floor with Kliamovich and a woman arguing nearby. With the exception of the father-in-law, a police report detailing the incident did not indicate the relationship of those involved.

The man then asked what had happened, at which point Kliamovich approached him and told him "mind your f---ing business, I'll f---king kill you," he told police. After the man attempted to check on his father-in-law, Kliamovich pushed him and again threatened to kill him, the police report said. At that point, the man left the room and dialed 9-1-1.

Upon entering the basement, police say that Kliamovich became "immediately antagonistic," swearing at the officers and taking a combative stance. After he was told he would be placed under arrest,  the 5-foot-11, two hundred-pound Kliamovich began wrestling with police, causing them to use a stun gun in order to take him into custody, the report said.

Kliamovich allegedly continued to try and kick police officers as he was transported back to the Conshohocken Police Station. Upon being placed in a cell and having his handcuffs removed, Kliamovich again took an aggressive stance and managed to punch an officer in the face, causing a nose injury and bleeding, the report said.

Kliamovich was arraigned before Magisterial Justice Francis Bernhardt, III, and placed into Montgomery County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail. He next faces a preliminary hearing on December 13 before Judge Bernhardt.
