Recycle Campaign Signs in Whitemarsh

Homeowners and candidates can take elections signs to the Whitemarsh municipal building for recycling through November 23.

It’s going to be a little easier for area residents to get rid of campaign signs this November.

According to a release from the county, residents and candidates can drop off signs for recycling  at the through November 23.

The program comes from a partnership between the county’s Recycling office, ReCommunity Recycling, a nation-wide recycling program with an office in Philadelphia, Lower Moreland-based Sullivan’s Scrap Metals and the Montgomery County Democratic and Republican Committees.

“This collection program does not take the responsibility for cleaning up campaign signs away from candidates,” Chris Kaasmann, Montgomery County Recycling Coordinator said in a statement. “Instead, we want to connect candidates and home owners with drop off points so that signs can be recycled instead of thrown in the trash,”

The release states that all signs and stakes will be delivered to ReCommunity Recycling in Philadelphia and Sullivan’s Scrap Metals in Lower Moreland Township for recycling
