Ridge Pike Reopened after Hazmat Incident at Alan Wood Road

Traffic patterns return to normal.

Authorities say a grease spill caused the closure of a lane of traffic on Ridge Pike at Alan Wood Road Friday morning.

The Plymouth Fire Company first responded to the scene at approximately 10:47 a.m., after motorists called in to report their vehicles were spinning out in the intersection.  A county hazmat team was then called in to clean the scene. A county dispatcher said investigators were unsure of where the spill came from, but that they may have been searching for a truck that leaked the fluid.

The hazmat team worked to clean the grease and put down sand. Plymouth police said that the roadway was fully reopened and traffic had returned to normal by 11:50 a.m.
