Traffic Alert: Slow Going on the Blue Route

A rundown of what area roads will be under construction for the week of Sept. 26.

The following area roads will be under construction in the coming week, according to releases from PennDOT. Residents should proceed with caution in the following areas at the following times.

Interstate 476:

  • Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 26 through 28, one of two northbound lanes on the northbound side of the highway will be closed at the I-76 (Exit 16) interchange from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. 
  • Monday through Thursday, Sept. 26 through 29, one of the three southbound lanes will be closed at 8 p.m. and two of the three lanes will be closed at 11 p.m. between Germantown Pike and I-76. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. the next morning.
  • Friday, Sept. 30, one of three southbound lanes will be closed at 9 p.m. and two of the three southbound lanes will be closed at 1 a.m. between Germantown Pike and I-76. All lanes will reopen by Saturday, Oct. 1, at 7 a.m.

  • Overnight lane closures are expected in both directions on Chemical Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday for painting at the I-476 overpass.
