Traffic: Flourtown Road Closed, Work on I-476

A breakdown of some potential traffic issues in the area.

Drivers in the Plymouth-Whitemarsh area should be prepaired for construction, lane closures and other potential traffic delays in the following areas for the week of October 17, according to releases from PennDOT.

Interstates 76 and 476 (Plymouth and Conshohocken)

  • On Monday through Tuesday, Oct. 18, one of the two northbound lanes on the northbound side of I-476 will be closed between I-76 (Exit 16) and Germantown Pike East (Exit 19) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Through Thursday, Oct. 20, one of the two eastbound and/or westbound lanes on I-76 will be closed at the I-476 Interchange from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and periodic traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes will occur between midnight and 4 a.m. 
  • On Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 19-20, one of the two northbound lanes on the northbound side of I-476 and one of the three southbound lanes will be closed between the I-76 (Exit 16) and Germantown Pike West (Exit 20) interchanges from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
  •  On Friday, Oct. 21, one of the two northbound lanes on the northbound side of I-476 will be closed between I-76 (Exit 16) and Ridge Pike (Exit 18) from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday.

  • Aqua Pennsylvania is closing Flourtown Road between Thomas Road and Stenton Avenue in Whitemarsh Township for water main installation. The road will be closed weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Dec. 2. During construction, Flourtown Road through traffic will be detoured over Stenton Avenue, Joshua Road and Thomas Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.
