Manayunk's Bourbon Blue Closing After 17 Years
The popular bar and restaurant is the second neighborhood spot to close permanently amid the coronavirus pandemic.

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — Another popular bar and restaurant in Manayunk is closing due to impact from the coronavirus pandemic.
Bourbon Blue announced recently that it is closing its doors after 17 years of business.
On its Facebook page Monday, the restaurant said it cannot stay afloat amid economic hardship.

"We take great pride in knowing we that we did everything we could to weather this storm, but COVID-19 proved too strong," the owners said. "It is now no longer viable for us to operate at this location on 2 Rector Street in Manayunk."
Bourbon Blue is the second popular Manayunk spot to close amid the pandemic.

Mad River announced in mid March it was closing after 11 years of business.
Mad River Manager Jamie Powell said he hoped their announcement didn't start a wave of other eateries announcing their closure.
