MAVUNO: Sewickley Sings

When/Where: 7 p.m. Friday at Sweetwater Center for the Arts.
Why Go: Choir members from regional churches come together to perform their favorite songs. This is an event to gather Christian singers regardless of denomination to express love for contemporary gospel and Christian music in a public concert setting. Participating churches will host a reception following the performance.

Admission: $3 suggested donation.
Rockin' at the Hollow
When/Where: 3-7 p.m. Saturday at Fern Hollow Nature Center,, Sewickley Heights.
Why Go: Enjoy live music from local teens, featuring Priest, Sage, Roots and Soul and tons of outdoor activities for families. Festival food is available for purchase , children's activities, and live music featuring Priest, Sage, Roots, and Soul. Bring a blanket and a picnic. BYOB is permitted for adults. Bring your own T-Shirt to tye-dye
Admission: $10 per child (under 4 are free) or $15 per adult. Teens over 12 are permitted to attend without an adult.
Animal Friends’ Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade and Costume Party
When/Where: noon Sunday at Vietnam Veterans Shelter in Schenley Park in Oakland.
Why Go: The Howl-O-Ween party will feature pet photos, vendors, a pet costume contest and parade, refreshments, games for the whole family and goodies for pets and pet owners. Costumes for pets and their people are strongly encouraged. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes in a number of categories, including most creative, spookiest, most family-interactive and more.
Admission: $20 for one pet, $25 for a group with two or more pets (humans free).
Music Series Plus
When/Where: 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. James Church, Sewickley.
Why Go: The second concert of the series with Dr. Warren Davidson, violin, and Donna Amato, assisting artist. The concert begins at 3 p.m. and is preceded by a 2:30 p.m. pre-concert performed by students from the Center for Young Musicians.
Admission: Free will offering.
Savoring Sewickley
When/Where: 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Sewickley Public Library.
Why Go: The Friends of the Sewickley Public Library is hosting a special evening at the Library sampling some of Sewickley Valley chefs’ best dishes.
Admission: $60 per person donation. Proceeds support the library.
