Walt Maddox Reflects on Successful Music Career

Former "Marcels" member and Quaker Valley High School music ensembles perform tribute to Nat "King" Cole in benefit show.

Walt Maddox brought his "Sights and Sounds Review" to Quaker Valley on Wednesday for a special concert, "Nat: A Tribute to Nat 'King' Cole."

Maddox, a Pittsburgh native, has been a performer for the past five decades. In 1961 Maddox joined local doo-wop group The Marcels, and began touring the country. The Marcels’ 1961 recording of "Blue Moon" sold more than a million copies.

Maddox took a break before Wednesday's show to chat with Sewickley Patch.
