SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police released their weekly crime report on Monday, April 2.
The report covers police incidents that occurred between March 27 and April 1.
Police handled DUI, drug possession, and theft cases in that time frame.

March 27, 10:21 a.m.
Officers investigated a reckless driver on the 200 block North State Road. who had struck trash cans on Township Line Road in Upper Darby. Sgt. Purcell and Officer Robbins stopped a Mazda vehicle and made contact with the driver. During this contact, Officers located a quantity of narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver, 48, of Aston, was taken into custody. He was released to family, and charges for drug possession are pending.

March 27, 4:24 p.m.
Two victims reported their bicycles had been stolen from the rear driveway of a property on the 1000 block Stoneybrook Drive sometime between March 26 and March 27. A 20-inch Big Ripper and a 20-inch Social-Flyer are missing.
March 27, 10:36 p.m.
Target at the Mall reported having a female in custody for retail theft. Security said they observed a female in the electronics department selecting merchandise. She concealed the merchandise in a sweatshirt and attempted to leave the store. Target recovered $135 worth of merchandise. Donna Wagman 44, of Essington, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft.
March 28, 9:45 a.m.
Two residents from the area of Southcroft and Stanfield roads reported that sometime overnight items were removed from their unlocked vehicles parked in the driveways.
March 29, 6:51 p.m.
Target at the Mall security reported having a male subject in custody for theft. Officers found Marquize Speight 24, of Philadelphia, had entered the store and attempted to steal seven cans of baby formula from display. He was transported to headquarters and charged with retail theft and released.
April 1, 8:13 a.m.
Police were called to investigate the driver of a stopped vehicle who was reportedly unconscious inside at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Saxer Avenue. Police found both the driver and the passenger asleep inside the running vehicle. Investigation showed the driver, a 24-year-old woman from Philadelphia, to be intoxicated. She was taken into custody and asked to perform a blood test which she refused. She was later released to family, and charges for DUI and traffic offenses are pending.
