Robbery, More Charges Filed Against Delco Bank Robbery Suspect
George Drake Jr. was charged in connection with a Chesco bank robbery and is suspected to be the man responsible for 2 Delco bank robberies.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — A man sought in connection with two Delaware County bank robberies has been taken into custody, according to authorities and news reports.
The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department said George Drake Jr., 27, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody in Philadelphia on Aug. 31 following a robbery at a Westtown Township PNC Bank on Aug. 27.
Delaware County Daily Times reports Drake is the suspect sought in bank robberies in Springfield and Haverford townships.

The Springfield incident occurred on July 23
On that date, officers responded to the WSFS Bank, 500 block of Baltimore Pike, for a robbery report.

Bank employees reported a male subject entered the bank and implied he had a firearm.
The male fled the bank with an amount of money and left in a vehicle on Baltimore Pike. Det. Nutley is investigating.
Then, Haverford Township Police reported a robbery at WSFS Bank, 1200 West Township Line Road in Havertown.
Police said a man came into the bank and handed a teller a handwritten note that said "this is a robbery I have a gun empty drawer no cops no bait!"
The teller gave the man $1,500 in cash.
The man then left the bank, heading south on West Township Line Road, in a black Chevrolet Impala.
While Drake has not been charged in Delaware County, he is charged with felony robbery, felony aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault, and harassment in Chester County in connection with the Aug. 27 incident.
He is being held on $75,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 14.
