Springfield Crime Blotter: Assault, Theft, DUI, More
Police said two women assaulted a security guard at Target when they were confronted for stealing $600 worth of merchandise.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Jan. 3 and Jan. 9.

Jan. 3 at 5:02 p.m.
Target security at the mall reported three females had stolen over $600 worth of merchandise from the store and left towards Sproul Road. As security was attempting to take them into custody, two of the females assaulted them and fled the area in a vehicle. Det. McNeely is investigating.
Jan. 4 at 5:49 p.m.
An employee from Springfield Mall reported she found the catalytic converter missing from her vehicle, which had been parked in the rear of the property.

Jan. 6 at 11:21 p.m.
CVS employees reported two males entered the store and stole over $1,000 worth of merchandise before leaving in a vehicle. Det. McNeely is investigating.
Jan. 7 at 12:29 p.m.
A shopper at BJ’s Wholesale, 120 block of East Woodland Avenue, reported her wallet was stolen out of her purse, which was in a shopping cart. She said she briefly left the cart unattended before noticing the wallet missing.
Jan. 8 at 10:11 a.m.
The owner of Sleepy Hollow Delly reported finding graffiti had been sprayed on the rear part of the building. Det. McNeely is investigating.
Jan. 8 at 1:35 p.m.
While on patrol, officers found a driver of a vehicle on Baltimore Pike at Leamy Avenue unconscious, stopped in traffic. The driver, 55, of Georgia, was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. The male submitted to a blood test and was later released to a friend.
Jan. 9 at 10:44 a.m.
A resident of the 600 block of East Leamy Avenue reported two portable heaters were stolen from the property.
Jan. 9 at 9:39 p.m.
Officers investigated a crash on Baltimore Pike at Woodland Avenue in which a vehicle struck another while making a turn. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 31-year-old male from Audubon, New Jersey, was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and submitted to a test of his blood. He was later released to family.
