Scam warning
Over the past week, several residents have reported suspicious phone calls that were obvious scams for money. One caller represented himself as a PECO employee and threatened to shut of electric to the home. Another caller stated he was from a government agency and the resident had a warrant for their arrest. The callers attempt to place the homeowner in fear and then convince them that a monetary payment will resolve their issues. A word of advice, unless you are certain of the identity of a caller, NEVER give personal information out over the phone and NEVER agree to send money. When in doubt, hang up.
