Springfield Police Blotter: Car Windows Smashed, Theft, DUI, More
Several vehicles parked at the Springfield Ice Rink had windows smashed and various items stole from inside. See full details of the report.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police issues their latest crime report recently, highlighting police activity between Nov. 6 and Nov. 12 in the township.
Police handled various theft cases, vandalism and thefts from vehicles, DUI, fraud and more.

Nov. 6, 10:36 a.m.
Report of vandalism in Ellson Glen Park – A resident discovered the jungle gym defaced with blue marker. Obscene images and vulgar language were found on several pieces of gym equipment.
Nov. 6, 1:02 p.m.
Target, 857 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft – Shantell Olive Evans, 31 yrs old from Darby, was observed in the women's clothing department removing tags from merchandise and concealing the items in her purse. She attempted to leave the store without rendering payment. The total value of the theft was $50. She was placed under arrest and cited for Retail Theft. Det. Daniel McNeely is handling the investigation.

Nov. 7, 12:54 p.m.
Report of an armed robbery at the CVS, 334 Baltimore Pike – The offender proceeded to the Pharmacy counter and handed a note demanding oxycodone and oxycontin. He told the employee he had a gun. The employee handed the note to the Pharmacist who began filling a bag with the narcotics. The offender jumped over the counter and took other drugs from a safe along with the bag filled by the Pharmacist. The offender fled the store on foot. The total value of the pills stolen was $11,424. Witnesses described the offender as a black male, wearing a camouflage shirt, baseball cap, gloves and sunglasses. Det. Daniel McNeely is handling the investigation.
Nov. 7, 4:42 p.m.
Report of a theft from a vehicle – Officer Joseph O'Berg responded to the Princeton Presbyterian Church, 933 Baltimore Pike, and found that a vehicle was forcibly entered (side window smashed) and a purse stolen from inside. The purse was described as a black Prada containing jewelry, a cell phone, debit/credit cards, a driver's license and cash. The total value of the theft was in excess of $2,000. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Nov. 8, 5:18 p.m.
Officer Kyle Cutcliff was dispatched to a traffic accident at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Saxer Avenue. During his investigation, he observed that one of the driver's, Marianne Ayoub, 46, of Havertown, appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Ayoub was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. She will be charged with DUI. Sgt. John DiTrolio is handling the investigation.
Nov. 9, 5:57 p.m.
Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft – Caprise Foster, 25, of Darby, was observed placing a deep fryer in the bottom of her shopping cart and concealing clothing in a Target bag. She attempted to leave the store with the merchandise without rendering payment. The total value of the theft was $258. Foster was placed under arrest and charged with Retail Theft. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Nov. 9, 7:51 p.m.
Sprint PCS, 1250 Baltimore Pike reported a fraud in progress – Employees reported two subjects in the store attempting to purchase multiple iPhones through an existing account. One subject identified himself with an Arizona driver's license and was known to have been in the store on a prior date with New Jersey identification under a different name. Officers responded and detained Ramon Eduardo Adames, 22, of Philadelphia, and Raphael Gedeon, 33, of Miami, Florida. Investigation showed that both men provided false identification and were in possession of numerous driver's licenses and credit cards under different names. Both men were arrested and charged with forgery, identity theft and related crimes. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Nov. 11, 1:23 p.m.
Macy's, 1250 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft – William Thompson, 57, of Philadelphia, was observed concealing two jackets in a shopping bag. He attempted to leave the store with the merchandise without rendering payment. The total value of the theft was $359. Thompson was placed under arrest and charged with Retail Theft. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Nov. 11, 4:04 p.m.
Reported thefts from several vehicles parked at the Springfield Ice Rink, 400 W. Sproul Road – Officers found three vehicles had been forcibly entered by breaking side windows. Victim #1 had her purse stolen which contained debit/credit cards, a checkbook, driver's license and social security card. Victim #2 had his wallet stolen which contained debit/credit cards, driver's license and $30 cash. Victim #3 had his leather gym bag stolen which contained Bose headphones, cell phone chargers and a wallet. Inside the wallet were credit/debit cards, driver's license and social security card. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Nov. 11, 4:32 p.m.
Officer Joseph Prendergast responded to the 400 block of Doe Run Lane for an unconscious person in a vehicle – The officer contacted John Antonucci, 32, of Collingdale, in the driver's seat. He was conscious, but appeared confused and showed signs of intoxication. The investigation showed Antonucci to be impaired and marijuana was found in the vehicle. Antonucci was arrested and charged with DUI. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Nov. 12, 3:45 p.m.
Macy's, 1250 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft – Loss Prevention observed three females conceal merchandise from the men's department and attempt to leave the store without rendering payment. When the women were confronted outside the store, 2 dropped the merchandise and ran. Anijah Wheeler, 20, of New Castle, Delaware was apprehended with $298 in stolen merchandise. She was placed under arrest and charged with Retail Theft. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
