Springfield Police Report: 4 Theft Incidents In 3 Days

A Binghamton, New York man allegedly stole an envelope of money from a Baltimore Pike business on Jan. 24. See full report details here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Police issued their weekly crime report on Monday, Jan. 29.

The report is a shorter one, covering just four incidents handled between Jan. 22 and Jan. 24.

All incidents in the report were theft related and include retail thefts and thefts of money.

Jan. 22, 2:23 p.m.
Police responded to the Cricket Wireless store on the 400 block of Baltimore Pike for a report that three males had entered the store and removed an iPhone 7 from display and ran out of the store. A short time later, three males entered the Verizon Go Wireless store on the 1000 block Baltimore Pike and removed a Samsung Note 8 from display and ran out of the store. Det. Devaney is handling the investigation.

Jan. 22, 7:10 p.m.
Macy’s Security at the mall reported three males were in the store and removed numerous North Face jackets from display and left the store without paying for the jackets. They left the mall lot in a vehicle. Det. McNeely is investigating the theft.

Jan. 22, 9:05 p.m.
Two females were observed by Crazy 8 in the mall employees removing merchandise from display and leaving the store without paying. The value of the stolen merchandise was about $400.

Jan. 24, 9:17 p.m.
Ofc. Cutcliff responded to the Springfield Beverage store 600 block Baltimore Pike to investigate the theft of an envelope of money. Video surveillance led to a description of a suspect. Ofc. Cutcliff found a male fitting the description on the property of the Parkway Inn. The suspect was identified as the offender, and the envelope was recovered. Charges were filed against Robert Roe 51, of Binghamton, New York.
