Springfield Police Report: Man Stole Candy, Deodorant; Underage Drinking; DUI; More

Police in Springfield Township shared the latest report, highlighting 11 incidents officers handled between Oct. 16 and Oct. 22.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police issued their latest crime report on Monday, Oct. 23.

The report covers incidents between Oct. 16 and Oct. 22.

Crimes include underage drinking, DUI, vandalism, thefts, and more.

Oct. 16, 3:45 p.m.
A resident of the unit block N. Hillcrest Road reported a USPS delivery package was stolen after being delivered sometime on Oct. 14.

Oct. 17, 5:26 p.m.
Two adult females from Chester will be charged with retail theft after being observed at Target at the mall stealing $290. They were processed, and charges are pending.

Oct. 19, 3:01 p.m.
Officers responded to a burglar alarm at the Shell Station 400 block Baltimore Pike and found one of the doors shattered. Investigation showed that a brick was used to smash the glass in one of the doors. A subject entered the store and stole a quantity of cigarettes from behind the counter. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Oct. 20, 9:55 a.m.
A female juvenile was found to be in possession of marijuana after school officials found her smoking in the bathroom. She was turned over to her family and will be charged with drug offenses.

Oct. 10 12:20 p.m.
Officer Graff spotted a vehicle traveling west on the 600 block Baltimore Pike with a flat front tire. The vehicles was stopped by police in the Springfield Diner parking lot. The operator, a 42 year-old-male from Drexel Hill, was found to be intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and submitted to a blood test. He was released to family and charges for DUI are pending.

Oct. 20, 8:39 p.m.
A 15-year-old male from Springfield was stopped and cited for underage drinking and parks violations
after being found in Williams Park after hours by Sgt. McKinney.

Oct. 21, 4:14 p.m.
A resident of the 200 block Saxer Avenue reported numerous political signs were removed from the front of her property sometime overnight the previous night.

Oct. 21, 11:30 p.m.
A juvenile male from Springfield was found inside the Ellson Glen Park by Sgt. J. DiTrolio intoxicated. He was released to family and will be charged with underage drinking.

Oct. 22, 11:58 p.m.
Megan Pellegrino 29, of Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with public drunkenness after being observed by Sgt. Welsh stumbling in the highway on the 900 block E. Woodland Avenue. She was taken into custody and later released to a friend.

Oct. 22, 3:06 p.m.
Carla Jackson 35, of Philadelphia, was arrested after being observed in Macy’s at the mall stealing over $1,200 worth of merchandise. She attempted to leave the store and was stopped by security. Jackson was taken into custody and charged with retail theft. She was held for arraignment at Springfield Court.

Oct. 22, 3:55 p.m.
Patrick Otto, 36, of Philadelphia, was arrested after being observed by security at the Target in the mall stealing over $280 worth of deodorant and candy. He was taken into custody and held for arraignment at Springfield Court.
