Springfield Police Report: Numerous Thefts From Vehicles
In two days' time, 17 unlocked vehicles in the Colonial Park section of the township were entered, police said. See the full report here.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA – Springfield Township Police issued their latest report on police activity in the township, highlighting incidents between Dec. 4 and Dec. 10.
Incidents included thefts and attempted thefts, vandalism, and numerous thefts from vehicles in the Colonial Park section of the township.

Dec. 4, 7 a.m.
Several residents living in the Colonial Park area reported thefts/attempted thefts from their vehicles. All vehicles were left unlocked and parked either in the driveway or on the street. A total of 12 vehicles were entered along Welsh Drive, Claremont Road, Colonial Park Drive and Hawarden Road. Ten of the vehicles were rummaged through with nothing stolen. One vehicle was missing $2 in loose change. One vehicle had two scooters stolen from the trunk valued at $95.
Dec. 5, 7:30 a.m.
Several residents living in the Colonial Park area reported thefts/attempted thefts from their vehicles. All vehicles were left unlocked and parked either in the driveway or on the street. A total of five vehicles were entered along Nield Road and Wayne Avenue. Three of the vehicles were rummaged through with nothing stolen. One vehicle was missing $20 in cash and loose change. One vehicle had a Garmin GPS stolen valued at $1290

Dec. 6, 8:30 a.m.
Several residents living on Edgewood Drive and West Avenue reported thefts/attempted thefts from their vehicles. All vehicles were left unlocked and parked either in the driveway or on the street. Six vehicles were entered in the 900 and 1000 blocks of Edgewood Drive. One vehicle was entered in the 1000 block of West Avenue. Three of the vehicles were rummaged through with nothing stolen. Four vehicles were missing loose change.
Dec. 6, 3:24 p.m.
Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft. Khadijah Pollard, 40, of Yeadon, was observed removing price tags from merchandise and concealing the items in a plastic shopping bag. She attempted to leave the store with the merchandise without rendering payment. The total value of the theft was $185. Pollard was placed under arrest and charged with retail theft. She was also found to have a warrant for a previous crime in Philadelphia. Det. Bridget McCarthy is handling the investigation.
Dec. 6, 8:09 p.m.
Reported vandalism to a vehicle parked in the lot of Macy's, 1250 Baltimore Pike. The owner/victim discovered that her 2013 Ford Taurus had been "keyed" and a windshield wiper broken while she was in the store.
Dec. 8, 4:31 p.m.
Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft. Carissa Collins, 36, of Wilmington, Delaware, was observed concealing numerous pieces of clothing in her cart, covering the items with a Christmas tree from the seasonal department. She attempted to leave the store with the merchandise without rendering payment. The total value of the theft was $1,292. Collins was placed under arrest and charged with retail theft. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Dec. 9, 8:04 a.m.
A resident from the 900 block of Springhaven Rd reported vandalism to a vehicle. The victim discovered her 2016 Lexus had damage to the hood. A large dent with a hand print was observed indicating someone had jumped on the hood of the car. The value of the damage was not known at the time of the report.
Dec. 9, 11:52 a.m.
Target, 857 Baltimore Pike, reported an employee theft. Alton Stenae Kyle Oranie, 24, of Upper Darby, was suspected of theft and placed under surveillance by store security. Oranie was observed concealing an iPad and three Apple watches on his person while working at the store. He was approached by security and admitted to the thefts totaling $1,939. Oranie was placed under arrest and charged with retail theft. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Dec. 9, 2:49 p.m.
Macy's, 1250 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft. Two juveniles from Darby and Sharon Hill were observed concealing merchandise under their coats. The total value of the theft was $183. Both were placed under arrest and cited for retail theft. Both were released to their mothers. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Dec. 10, 4:21 p.m.
Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft. Briandria Wilson, 20, of Upper Darby, was observed concealing merchandise in her cart and on her person. She attempted to leave the store with the merchandise without rendering payment. The total value of the theft was $79. Wilson was placed under arrest and cited for retail theft. Det. James Devaney is handling the investigation.
Residents are reminded to keep their cars locked at all times. 23 cars were entered over the past week. All were left unlocked. If valuables are left inside vehicles, they should be placed out of sight or locked in the trunk.
