Stabbing, Drunk Teens, Thefts, Mark Latest Springfield Police Blotter

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police released their weekly report highlighting crime incidents in the township.

Between Sept. 12 and Sept. 16, police responded to at least 10 incidents.

Crimes included a stabbing that led to a warrant arrest, thefts, public drunkenness, and more.

Sept. 12, 10:54 p.m.
Joshua Carr 23, of Glenolden, was arrested and cited for public drunkenness after Ofc. Paytas found him wandering around the area of the 100 block Baltimore Pike intoxicated. He was later released to family.

Sept. 13, 3:09 a.m.
Police were called to the Springfield Hospital to investigate a possible stabbing victim. There they found a female who had a laceration to her leg. She was unable to recall where the stabbing occurred but said it was likely to have happened in New Jersey. As part of the investigation, officers responded to the Parkway Inn on the 600 block Baltimore Pike to speak with the female’s acquaintance and found that the friend had an active arrest warrant from Philadelphia for firearms violations. Troy Fleming 39, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody and later turned over to Philadelphia authorities.

Sept. 13, 5:43 p.m.
Employees at the AT&T store on the 700 block West Sproul Road reported that a male subject entered the store and forcibly removed two Samsung cell phones from a display and ran out of the store. He was observed running across the street to the shopping center. Det. McCarthy is investigating.

Sept. 13, 6:25 p.m.
Kevin Graser 26, of Morton, was arrested and cited for public drunkenness after being observed wandering around the Harlee Manor complex and the 300 block Lewis Road intoxicated.

Sept. 14, 1:12 p.m.
Springfield Mall Target security reported having a female subject in custody after observing her steal over $91 worth of clothing. Brittany Gayot 19, of Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft and released.

Sept. 14, 6:21 p.m.
Macy’s security reported they had two subjects in custody for attempting to steal over $175. Officers responded and identified two subjects from Philadelphia. One was cited for retail theft and released and the other will be charged by summons for retail theft.

Sept. 15, 3:55 p.m.
Two juveniles from Springfield were stopped by Ofc. Boyd after being observed in Williams Park intoxicated. They were taken into custody and later released to family.

Sept. 16, 6:22 p.m.
A resident on the 200 block Orchard Road reported a BMW hood ornament was stolen from his vehicle.

Sept. 15, 7:33 p.m.
A 50-year-old female from Lansdowne was observed by Target security at the mall stealing over $900 worth of clothing and jewelry. She was taken into custody and will be charged by Det. McCarthy for retail theft.

Sept. 16, 2:28 p.m.
A resident of the unit block West Leamy Avenue reported three male juveniles stole his bike from his driveway. The victim chased the subjects, and one of the subjects dropped another bike and continued to flee on foot. That bike was recovered, however the stolen one was not. The missing bike is a black Roadmaster.
