Reinventing Industrial Land in Ambler - Boiler House Tour & Happy Hour

Small suburban towns and boroughs represent the earliest examples of transit-oriented development, springing up along the rail lines that helped make Philadelphia a center of commerce and industry during the 19th century.  In Montgomery County, the Borough of Ambler has evolved from its industrial “factory town” roots into a hub for dining, entertainment and tourism.  One of the town’s crowning achievements is the recent opening of the Ambler Boiler House, the successful adaptive reuse of a landmark industrial building into unique and distinctive office space.

Hear from Jason Engelhardt, Senior Associate and Vice President, Langan Engineering and Environmental Services; Matt Heckendorn, Co-Owner, Heckendorn Shiles Architects and developer of the Ambler Boiler House; and John Zaharchuk, Principal, Summit Realty Advisors.  They will discuss the continued reinvention of Ambler and how they completed this dramatic adaptive re-use and remediation of the former factory, located just steps from SEPTA’s Ambler train station, into a LEED Platinum office building.  Moderator: Rich Wilson, Vice President, Arcadia Land Company. Following the panel discussion, we’ll take a short walk through the Borough’s downtown to the Ambler Boiler House for a tour and networking event at the offices of Summit Realty Advisors and Core States Group. Special thanks to event sponsor sponsors: Summit Realty Advisors, LLC as well as our Young Leader sponsors TD Bank, Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, Constructure Management Inc., TimHaahs & Associates and The Daniel M.
