UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A Philadelphia man charged with an armed 7-11 robbery in the township late last month was shot and killed by the FBI Friday, according to reports.
FBI agents —who were investigating a string of 7-11 armed robberies in the Philadelphia suburbs —were serving arrest and search warrants along the 1700 block of West Venango Street in Philadelphia's Tioga neighborhood Friday when Tahiem Weeks-Cook was shot multiple times by an agent and died after being taken to the hospital, according to NBC 10 Philadelphia and Action News 6.

"We can only confirm that a Tahiem Cook, 22, of Philadelphia, was charged on Friday with robbing a 7-11 in Upper Southampton Township," said Manual Gamiz, communications director for the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. "We cannot comment on what took place in Philadelphia."

"The FBI is reviewing an agent-involved shooting which occurred on the 1700 block of West Venango Street, as agents sought to serve arrest and search warrants on a subject at a nearby residence," the agency said in a statement. "That subject was wounded in the shooting and taken to the hospital for medical attention. The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously. In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to provide."
The FBI was investigating the armed robbery of the Street Road convenience store as a string of 7-11 armed robberies in the Philadelphia suburbs.
Bucks County Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said that evidence collected from the scene left her confident that Weeks-Cook was not only involved in the Upper Southampton Township crime but also in the robbery of a 7-11 in Montgomery Township.
"Working in collaboration, they were able to identify the suspect. One of the two suspects in both the Upper Southampton and Montgomery Township robbery," she told Action News.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Philadelphia division said last week that it had joined law enforcement in investigating at least five armed robberies of 7-11 convenience stores in the region, including three in Delaware County.
Upper Southampton Township Police said the Street Road convenience store was held up by armed robbers who brandished a black semi-automatic handgun.
The second person in the surveillance video involved in the 7-11 robberies remains unidentified and at large, authorities said.
He is described by authorities as a man wearing a navy-colored Reebok hooded sweatshirt with a triangular design, black pants with assorted decorations, eyeglasses, face covering, and gray gloves.
