WARMINSTER, PA —It finally happened. After years of waiting, the cranes hit the houses and the walls came tumbling down as the demolition of the abandoned Navy development finally began. Meanwhile, a gun rally at Warminster Community Park had residents up in arms while Tesla is talking about opening shop.

Gun Rally Triggers Outrage Among Warminster Residents, Officials
A gun rally in late September at Warminster Community Park triggered outrage among some residents and raised concerns among township officials. The rally by Gun Owners of America also raffled off vouchers for an AR-15 and a Tommy Gun replica.

In early October, Township Manager Tom Scott made the big announcement: The demolition of Shenandoah Woods was underway. The vacant development was designated a blighted area in 2011 by the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority.
A new sentencing date has been scheduled for the ex-Warminster Township police officer facing up to 185 years in prison for sexually abusing five boys. Next month, a judge will hear an appeal by James Carey to withdraw his no-contest plea.
Tesla In Talks To Bring Dealership To Warminster
Tesla is in talks with officials about bringing a dealership and service center to the township with construction possibly starting in the spring. The dealership would be located across from Archbishop Wood High School on York Road. A hearing is expected sometime in January.
Centennial Inks College Partnership Agreements
In November, the Centennial School District reached agreements with two college programs so its high school seniors could get admission to college. Centennial reached a deal with Commonwealth University, which has Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield universities under its banner, for four-year admission to qualified students. The district also entered a deal with Bucks County Community College for automatic admission.
