5 Travel Tips for a Stress-Free Vacation
World Traveling Ann's Choice resident shares her best travel advice.

According to a recent AAA Travel survey, nearly 100 million Americans are planning a vacation in 2019. Residents of Ann’s Choice, a developed and managed Erickson Living senior living community, are following this national trend. They are taking road trips to visit family and friends, enjoying cruises and traveling internationally to fulfill lifelong “bucket lists.”
Ann’s Choice residents have a distinct advantage when they travel. They leave with peace of mind knowing their apartment home and belongings are secure (in contrast to needing house-sitters). Also, residents can sign up for day trips organized by Ann’s Choice staff to concerts, attractions, theatre events, festivals, and more.
Resident Trudi Hertfelder, who just returned from a trip to Iceland, loves to travel. Living at Ann’s Choice makes it easy for Hertfelder to pack her bags and travel the world. She just has to lock her door and go.

“I hire Ann’s Choice Transportation as my limo service to and from the airport,” said Hertfelder. “I don’t worry about home security or maintenance while I am away.”

• Plan to arrive at your destination two days prior to cruise or land tour to allow for jet lag and/or missing luggage to catch up.
• Make and carry copies of your passport, driver’s license, medical cards, and credit cards. Place the hard copy in your hotel safe. Also keep a copy of above on your cell phone or tablet, labeled as something other than what it is, in case your device falls into unwanted hands.
• Leave a copy of your itinerary, phone contact numbers, copies of important cards, passport, and medical info with a family member or close friend at home in case of emergencies.
• Invest in travel insurance in case you have to cancel your plans last minute.
• In addition to luggage tags, have your name, home address, phone numbers and destination contact information inside your baggage.

Kirkjufell, or 'Church Mountain', is a distinctly shaped peak found on the north shore of Iceland's Snæfellsnes Peninsula, only a short distance away from the town of Grundarfjörður. It is often called 'the most photographed mountain in Iceland', due to its dramatic formation and perfect coastal location. It was featured in Game of Thrones as Arrowhead Mountain.
