EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA —It's Spooky Season.

As the first weekend of October rolls in like the morning fog, Halloween will be here very soon and events in the Philadelphia region are showcasing the season.

Get the fright of your life at Philadelphia's historic Eastern State Penitentiary with its Halloween Nights. Shady Brook Farm will also provide some scares as well.

Eastern State Penitentiary Opens Haunted Houses

Philadelphia's historic Eastern State Penitentiary is back in full spooky season swing, with Halloween Nights open now to give visitors the frights of their lives. The annual event, which runs select nights through Nov. 9, features new and improved visitor experiences this year along with many returning favorites. Halloween Nights is a massive Halloween festival that contains five haunted houses, as well as historic tours, themed bars, live entertainment, and more, and occupies all 10 acres of Eastern State Penitentiary’s abandoned cellblocks and yards. FallFest Underway At Shady Brook Farm

Shady Brook Farm —which will soon be transforming to another season of its popular Christmas lights attraction —is focused on fall. The farm on 931 Stony Hill Rd. is holding FallFest through Oct. 30. FallFest features activities including apple picking to its pumpkin patch, a Sunflower stroll, wagon rides, a Peanuts corn maze, the Barn of Horror, and other fall fun. (Read More)

Roxtoberfest 2024: What You Need To Know

Saturday marks the return of the popular Roxtoberfest in Roxborough. From noon to 6 p.m., Ridge Avenue will be transformed into a German-themed festival space with fun for all ages. Bensalem Family Fall Festival: What You Need To Know

Bensalem Township is ready to celebrate the fall season with its residents. The township will hold its annual Family Fall Festival —with its theme of "Community Pride" —starting at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bensalem Township Municipal Complex at 2400 Byberry Rd. Sights And Sounds Of Market Day Coming To Newtown Borough

The sights and sounds of Market Day are coming to the streets of Newtown this weekend. The beloved annual tradition takes place on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the streets in and around the Half-Moon Inn and on Court Street, Mercer Street, and Centre Avenue. The fall celebration, a fundraiser for the Newtown Historic Association, offers a glimpse into colonial America with street performers, artisans, craftspeople, puppet shows, a Revolutionary War encampment, and hands-on candle-making in the Boone Garden. Northampton Days Fall Festival Showcases Community

The 27th annual Northampton Days Festival takes place on Sunday at 98 Upper Holland Road on the grounds of the former Richboro Middle School, currently serving as the Richboro Elementary School. The event will kick off with a flag-raising ceremony by the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment at 10 a.m. and will continue throughout the day until 4 p.m. with more than 100 vendors, plenty of food, entertainment including the popular Northampton Days Talent Show, and lots of community spirit.
