829 Citations Issued In State Police Christmas-New Year's Crackdown
State Police Troop M investigated 68 crashes and made 44 DUI arrests over the Christmas/New Year's weekend in Bucks and two other counties.
BUCKS COUNTY, PA —State Police Troop M investigated 68 crashes and made 44 Driving Under the Influence arrests during its Christmas / New Year's Holiday Traffic Enforcement.
The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, announced the results of both the Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Enforcement period. Troop M covers Bucks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties.
The safety initiative targeted drivers who aggressively operated their motor vehicles in a manner that was dangerous to the public. Enforcement involved speeding, seat belt violations, and child seat belt infractions.

In addition, troopers focused on apprehending motorists who operated their motor vehicles while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

During the Christmas Holiday Enforcement Period for 2023, Troopers investigated 36 motor vehicle crashes and made 19 Driving Under the Influence arrests.
During the New Year’s Holiday Enforcement Period for 2023-2024, Troop M Troopers investigated 32 motor vehicle crashes and made 25 Driving Under the Influence arrests.

Motorists are also reminded of the mandates of Title 75 Section 3733, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, which stipulates that any driver of a motor vehicle who willfully fails or refuses to bring their vehicle to a stop, or who otherwise flees or attempts to elude a pursuing police officer, commits an offense, graded up to a felony of the 3rd degree, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, a $15,000 fine, and restitution for damages and/or injuries sustained as a result of the pursuit.
