County To Spray For Mosquitoes In Warminster
Trucks will be used to spray mosquito habitats in the park and residential areas.
WARMINSTER, PA — Bucks County trucks will spray for mosquitoes in Warminster this week.
The spraying is scheduled for Tuesday and is intended to reduce high populations of mosquitoes capable of spreading the West Nile Virus, according to health officials.
The areas that will be treated are bounded by Routes 132 and 332, East County Line Road and Newtown Road.

Trucks will be used to spray mosquito habitats in those areas. The material being used "has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment," county officials said.
Certain mosquito species carry the West Nile virus, which can cause humans to contract West Nile encephalitis, an infection that can result in an inflammation of the brain.

Weather conditions and other unexpected events could delay or cancel the spray operation. If conditions do not allow spraying on Wednesday, Thursday is the backup date, officials said.
