This 5K brings together all members of the community for a day of remembrance and a pledge to make responsible decisions. The race began in 2011 as a senior project for a pair of Hatboro-Horsham High School students. The Foundation has continued to offer the run each spring in tribute to class of 2010 Hatboro-Horsham High School graduate Edward Taylor Coombs, who was a rising sophomore at Marist College at the time of his death in 2011.
All race proceeds benefit the Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation (a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization and are given back to the community in the form of academic and leadership scholarships. This year, the Foundation hopes to award two EC34 5K scholarships instead of one.
