WARMINSTER, PA —The township is going out to bid for security cameras to cover its facilities.

Township officials are seeking requests for proposals for security cameras that have been in the planning stages for some time but have recently emerged as a top priority after recent vandalism at Warminster Community Park and other township parks.

The township wants a professional service to design and build a cloud-based security camera network at all of its township buildings and large parks.

That includes the municipal building and police department, Warminster Township Free Library, Ben Wilson Senior Center, the public works department, and the 18-hole Five Ponds Golf Course clubhouse.

Township officials are also seeking camera coverage at some of its larger parks with special emphasis on Warminster Community Park.

A general meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m. at the administration offices located at 401 Gibson Ave.

Township officials and facilities managers will be at the meeting to discuss the priority locations.

The design and build solution will provide for exterior monitoring camera coverage 24 hours a day at each building and some park facilities, township officials said.

Warminster Community Park has an area of more than 200 acres and contains a Recreation and Education Center building, two pavilions with bathrooms, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, a playground, a dog park, a storage yard with building, and several walking trails.

Additionally, Werner Park on Kirk Road, Munro Park on Newtown Road, Szymanek Park on Street Road, and Kemper Park on Valley Road all contain playing fields and pavilions, and other buildings.

Each park location that has electric infrastructure will be a part of the ideal design and build solution.

Township officials had reported graffiti being spray painted, basketball courts being damaged and also vandalism to bathrooms and Safetytown at Warminster Community Park.

In mid-July, Warminster Township Police reported that numerous birds were found dead after their feeding stations in an old tower at the park contained poison.

"Our belief is that the ideal solution will include cloud-based remote data storage that can be accessed by Warminster Township municipal government personnel," officials said.

Proposals should include design details, equipment details, and installation details.

Project costs are subject to the Warminster Township Responsible Contractor Ordinance depending on the projects. Additionally, the PA Prevailing Wage requirements must be followed for this work.

Interested parties are encouraged to contact the Warminster Township administrative office via email at administration@warminsterpa.org for more information.

All proposals must be submitted through Pennbid with a submission deadline of Friday, Sept. 8 at noon.
