Machete-Wielding Man Shot, Killed By Police In Montgomery Co.: DA
A man who charged at police officers in Montgomery County with a machete and a hatchet was shot and killed Sunday night, the district attorney's office said Monday. The incident began at around 8:08 p.m. in East Greenville, on the 100 block of Cherry Street in East Greenville. Police were called to the scene by an 18-year-old who was the victim of an assault. Suspicious Package Left At Lower Bucks Hospital
Middletown Township Police are investigating a suspicious package with a note that said "contents poison" that was left in the parking lot of the Lower Bucks Hospital emergency room on Saturday afternoon. Police said the package instead contained ashes. (Read More)
Montco's Cross County Trail Gets $45 Million Grant To Expand, Connect
Montgomery County will receive $45 million in funding for several walking and biking trails that will further improve accessibility and sustainability across the region. The money is part of a larger $200 million funding of the greater Philadelphia area's Circuit Trails Network, a connection of hundreds of miles of multi-use trails which, taken together, represent one of the largest networks of its kind in the nation. Man, Woman Found Dead In RV: Philadelphia Police
Two people were found dead in West Kensington early Saturday morning, Philadelphia Police said. The bodies were found at about 2:06 a.m. Saturday on the 2400 block of North Phillip Street. Police found the bodies of a man and woman inside an RV on that block. (Read More)
49 Pets Adopted At Lower Bucks Shelter Event
America’s First Animal Shelter has called its participation in the recent 10th Anniversary NBCUniversal ‘Clear the Shelters’ nationwide pet adoption event a success. The Women's Animal Center in Bensalem Township said that it had "an incredible day clearing the shelter" when 49 of its shelter animals found their forever homes. The event helps find loving forever homes for surrendered and stray animals. (Read More)
