The Philadelphia Eagles could lose the remaining games on their schedule and still make the playoffs. The Birds have the NFL's best record.

WARMINSTER, PA —The Philadelphia Eagles can clinch a playoff spot Sunday.
I know that sounds silly coming in early December. But when you're 10-1 and have the best record in the NFL, that kind of record is usually a guarantee to start playing even more meaningful games in January.
There's so much to say about this team and so much to discuss how the Birds got to this point.

But the season isn't over. There are still games to be played. And the Eagles face a worthy opponent in the sturdy Tennessee Titans and running back stud Derrick Henry.
The Green Bay Packers certainly hung in there but that team doesn't have the firepower it used to and seems to be fading away into possibly a rebuilding mode. The Pack won't be Back for the playoffs.

But the Eagles will be. And that's two straight seasons under Coach Nick Sirianni, who doesn't get the credit he deserves. Neither does Defensive Coach Jonathan Gannon. And neither does General Manager Howie Roseman.
It's like the NFL is reluctant to crown the Birds as the best. This team has only lost one game all year to Washington, who shattered any hopes of an undefeated season.
It doesn't make for great ratings or storylines. It's always all about the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes.
The Birds have six games left starting Sunday. Two of them are against the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears, teams that if you take your foot off the gas could find a way to win.
What a wonderful way to spend the holidays will be the Christmas Eve matchup between the Birds and the Dallas Cowboys.
And then the Birds square off against a surprising New York Giants team for two games. Those matchups are always exciting, especially with both coming in the home stretch of the season.
It's hard to crown the Eagles champions of the NFC East andguarantee a Super Bowl slot like I did in my first column.
Coming into the year, a lot of league chatter was calling it the NFC Least. But now it's the NFC Beast with all four teams possibly having a shot to make the playoffs.
Yes, the Eagles could lose all their remaining games and still make the playoffs.
But the Birds can't stop fighting or flying now.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts needs to keep putting this team on his back and the defense needs to keep bringing the heat.
Yes, it's getting cold outside. But the playoff race is just heating up. And the Eagles are at the top of the heap.
