Retired Educators from Ann's Choice Help Collect School Supplies

More than 100 backpacks as well as notebooks, pencils, pens, and crayons donated to local school children,

Retired educators Jeanne Hackett and Peggy Mackey from Ann’s Choice, an Erickson Living retirement community in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, helped organize a school supply donation drive on campus this summer. They collected more than 100 backpacks as well as notebooks, pencils, pens, and crayons from residents and staff on campus.

Ann's Choice donated the supplies to the Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG) for distribution to children whose parents are enrolled in the BCHG Supportive Housing, Bridge, HOME, Housing First and Family Permanent Supportive Housing programs. The supplies allow the children to begin the school year on the same level playing field as their classmates and enable them to concentrate on their schoolwork.

“Thank you to our residents and staff for participating in our school donation drive and supporting a worthy cause,” said Philanthropy Coordinator Rebecca Nixon. “We can make a difference in the lives of school children in our community through our generosity and support.”
