A Warminster man brought home an unwanted souvenir from a recent Caribbean trip.

Two local exterminators, Hollie and Buddy Mullen of A-1 Exterminators, tell 6ABC they were summoned by a 22-year-old traveler who found a scorpion in his backpack after recently returning home from the Virgin Islands.

"He reached into his computer backpack...and a scorpion bit him," Buddy Mullen told the news station. The scorpion disappeared somewhere in the man's bedroom, which prompted the call to A-1 Exterminators.

Meanwhile, the Warminster man was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital and was treated and released, his mother told 6ABC.

Scorpions, although feared, are actually generally harmless, 6ABC reports. A scorpion sting is equivalent to a bee sting, the network says.
